Golfing on three different courses within a fifteen minute drive, sport fishing for salmon on the redoubtable River Suir, hill walking for all levels of fitness in the Galtee Mountains, and racing at Limerick Junction which attract young horses from some of the most renown racing stables in the world located here in Tipperary are just some of the activities available. Kilshane House is located in one of the most interesting archaeological areas in Ireland. The Rock of Cashel is twenty minutes drive away. Situated on a huge limestone outcrop in the plains of Tipperary, it was once the site of a fortress built in 500 A.D. and has the remains of a 12th century Gothic cathedral constructed by the kings of Munster. Our in-house team of chefs will prepare a delicious picnic and a guide will bring history alive. Key figures will breathe again as the events of the past are linked with other events in the world at the time and their stories retold. Cahir Castle and the Swiss Cottage are also destinations not to be missed.

Kilshane House has a dressage based equestrian centre located in the Stable Yard for competition horses and riders specializing in dressage, eventing, and show jumping.  Contact Vitaliy Halstyan at +353 86 1792322. You are cordially invited to observe if you wish.

There are extensive walks on the property which include the Victorian greenhouse and vegetable garden and the Sacred Garden of Meditation or a spin in the boat on the lake.  Clay pigeon shooting, archery, and quad bike tours are available on site. We would be delighted to organise a private guided tour of David Marnane's international thoroughbred racing stable next door.
